So, I decided, with my reluctance to use Facebook, and Twitter rapidly descending, that it was past time to try to set up an instance of one of the federate-able social networks, and see if any of my friends might join. This is a "Friendica" instance, in part because it was easy to set up on my hosting plan without additional cost or a lot of config. We'll see how it goes.
